Faith Based Moments
For the record, let it be known that Assertive Atheist Moments asserts that any and all tax-payer government funds used to support Faith Based efforts face a critical separation of Church and State entanglement situation.
None the less, the administration of President Bush has not only established an office that administrates Faith Based funds, but there are thousands of Faith Based Government supported organizations and programs across the US of A.
We are aware that President-elect Obama indicates that he plans to continue the Bush practice of Government supported Faith Based initiatives and programs.
The Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF), Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and many other organizations have challenged a number of Faith Based entanglements in court - winning some, but loosing more.
With the above in mind, Assertive Atheist Moments is launching and helping to launch a number of national Faith Based initiatives based in the Humanist Faith of meliorism.
Stated clearly and succinctly, the Humanist Faith of meliorism is dedicated to the proposition that through Human efforts it is possible to ameliorate unjust and unfair situations across this great nation of ours - the US of A, the Leading Democracy of the Free World.
Assertive Atheist Moments is prepared to help launch the following Humanistic, Faith Based initiatives in the following the following three areas:
1. The Humanist Faith Based initiate that Gay Marriage will become the law of the land in all fifty states.
2. The Humanist Faith Based initiate that all state laws that interfere with a woman's right to choose an abortion without being faced with undue burden, will be removed from the states that currently have such undue burdens in place.
3. The Humanist Faith Based initiative that everyone will be afforded the right to Die with Dignity. This includes establishing End of Life Centers, where a person could choose to live during their final two months of life, visited by family and friends, culminating in planned assisted suicide at the end of the two month period of blissful and peaceful life within the End of Life Center.
We like the idea of having 3 initial Humanistic Faith Based initiatives. When it comes to the quality and magnificence of Humanistic Faith Based-ness, there appears to be something magical about the number 3.
Assertive Atheist Moments has a strong Humanistic Faith that within four years, Gay Marriage will be legal in all fifty states. Assertive Atheistic Moments has a strong Humanistic Faith that nationwide, women will be able to choose an abortion without additional undue burdens placed before her. Assertive Atheistic Moments has a strong Humanistic Faith that within four years, there will be a number of centers created that will allow folk to Die with Dignity.
Naturally, the above three examples are only the beginning of more, many more, Humanistic Faith Based initiatives. We invite your feed-back on this.
Naturally, there will be limited government funds available for Faith Based initiates, thus there will be competition for these limited Faith Based funds. Some of the competition will be in the following areas:
1. Humanistic Faith Based initiatives vs Theistic Faith Based initiatives.
2. Details of the Humanistic Faith Based initiatives vs details of Theistic Faith Based initiatives.
3. Strong Program Evaluation methods dedicated to Outcome Measurement of the Success achieved with Humanistic Faith Based initiatives vs Measured Outcome Success achieved with Theistic Faith Based initiatives.
4. Perhaps, even a contest between the strength and power of Faith - from a Humanistic Faith Based perspective vs a Theistic Faith Based perspective.
In the best of worlds, through the above competition between Humanistic Faith Based initiatives vs Theistic Faith Based initiatives, most likely seen in contest within the Court system, the Government may decide from this competitive can of worms - that it wants to get out of the Faith Based funding business. Assertive Atheist Moments would see this as a victory.
This would mean that Humanist and Theist Faith Based initiatives would need to raise funds from the private sector - a place where all Faith Based efforts need to reside.
Assertive Atheist Moments has great Humanistic Faith that we will be able to change the environment of Faith Based initiates - for the ameliorative good of all, Humanist and Theist.
